Painting the Swedish West Coast II

We got some nice and warm weather during our stay in Sweden. My husband and I went for a trip to the old fishing village Mollosund to meet up with my oldest son and his family, we stayed overnight at a bead and breakfast and I got the chance to paint in the evening, and early in the morning before breakfast.

I hope you enjoy reading about my trip.

Painting the Swedish West Coast I

I spent a couple of weeks in Sweden this summer, catching up with family and friends. I promised myself to try to find some time to paint, it was easier said than done, but I managed to find time in the evenings when my husband wanted to go fishing, or early mornings before breakfast. The light during the summer months are amazing, it doesn't get dark, a few hours of dusk, that's all. Spending the evening on a cliff, near the ocean, watching the boats passing by, has a special place in my heart. This particular evening was nice and warm, no wind. My husband was fishing nearby, I was painting. Around 10 pm everything around me turned into grayish colors and at the same time everything seemed to glow. I wanted to capture the moment so I started to paint one more painting, I was so inspired, it was so fun. Halfway into the painting the mosquitoes showed up, they started to attack my bare ankles, it was impossible to keep on painting, my husband stopped fishing and we left. When I took a closer look at my painting I saw the glowing colors, the light, the fast movements of my brush as I tried to finish the painting. I like it and I am going to keep it as a memory of a beautiful evening.I will share some more memories in my next blog.

Until then, have a nice summer
